Namastey! I am Pukar Joshi.

I am Pukar Joshi, a Ph.D. student in Geotechnical Engineering at Montana State University, specializing in sustainable structures through Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP). My research focuses on addressing environmental challenges in cold regions, exploring the effects of particle size, curing conditions, and strength development in biocemented soils.

Beyond research, I serve as a Graduate Student Ambassador for the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering, facilitating outreach and engagement among prospective and current students.

Before pursuing my Ph.D., I served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Lalitpur Engineering College, Tribhuvan University. With over four and a half years of full-time teaching experience, I had the privilege of mentoring more than a thousand students. Alongside academia, I gained three years of part-time professional experience in structural analysis and design, contributing to the development of numerous residential and commercial buildings.

Testimonials

It is my pleasure to recommend someone like Pukar Joshi, who is a civil engineer with expertise in Earthquake Engineering. Er. Joshi was my student during his maters in earthquake engineering (IoE, Tribhuvan University, Nepal). Since then I am in constant touch with him. He was one of the finest students I have seen. He is very quick in understanding and making decisions. He tries to understand the matter from the basics so that he could apply and relate that in real practice. He was the Gold medalist, the topper of his batch in masters. He is sound not only in study but also in carrying out research work. He does have analytical skills and uses different commercial software used in earthquake and civil engineering profession. In addition to this, he was the monitor (Class Representative) of his batch. This shows his leadership qualities. Currently, he is the head of the department of Civil Engineering in a private engineering college affiliated with the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Mr. Joshi is a smart and intelligent person. He really knows how to handle the situation and negotiate and create a positive vibe in the atmosphere he works. He is one of the students who I still keep in touch with and discuss in academic and research activities. I wish him all the best in his both academic and professional career ahead.

Mr. Joshi and I have worked together in the same institution for two years. Our professional relationship finally turned out to be intimate as if we had known each other for ages. He is not only a dedicated and motivating mentor but also a good human with a kind heart and supportive nature. His presence as a co-worker encouraged me to give my best in my profession. I get really positive vibes from meeting and talking to him. He is loved among his friend’s circle and equally loved by his students. I wish him all the best for his future career.

I have known Pukar for a decade. We studied undergraduate programs together and have completed several academic projects together. To me, Pukar is an extremely passionate and determined individual but more than that he is a wonderful person inside with a caring heart. His kind personality will inspire you to be like him. He has grown on me to be more than friends and I personally take him as my mentor. He is one of the most loving people I know in my life and I wish him the best life has to offer for his future career success.
